Gloucester
County Public Utilities is committed to meeting the present and future
water needs of our customers by meeting and/or exceeding all federal,
state and local regulations with regard to water quality. In
addition, great pride is taken by the department in responding to
customers' concerns and inquiries in an efficient, polite and
professional manner. The department provides water service to approximately 4100
accounts and sewer service to approximately 900 accounts. The department
operates from three locations: the Business/Customer Service Office located at 6582 Main
Street (at the corner of Main Street and Duval Avenue), the Maintenance
Shop located at 6936 Main Street and the Gloucester County Water
Treatment Plant, a 2MGD facility; adjacent to the facility is the Beaverdam Reservoir. Hours of operation
at the Business/Customer Service Office are 8:00 AM till 4:30 PM, Monday through

In
October of 2000, a seven member Public Utilities Advisory Committee (PUAC)
was formed to serve as an advisory body for the Board of Supervisors.
The Committee's purpose is to provide citizen input into the operations
of the public water and sewer systems. The Committee meets every
other month
on the second Thursday of the month at 7:00 PM in the Courthouse Office Building
Conference Room. The public is invited to attend.
