Gloucester County Public Utilities is committed to meeting the present and future water needs of our customers by meeting and/or exceeding all federal, state and local regulations with regard to water quality.  In addition, great pride is taken by the department in responding to customers' concerns and inquiries in an efficient, polite and professional manner.  The department provides water service to approximately 4100 accounts and sewer service to approximately 900 accounts. The department operates from three locations: the Business/Customer Service Office located at 6582 Main Street (at the corner of Main Street and Duval Avenue), the Maintenance Shop located at 6936 Main Street and the Gloucester County Water Treatment Plant, a 2MGD facility; adjacent to the facility is the Beaverdam Reservoir. Hours of operation at the Business/Customer Service Office are 8:00 AM till 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday.  We can be reached by telephone at (804) 693-1230 or you may contact Customer Service at (804) 693-4044. Our fax number is (804) 693-4664.

In October of 2000, a seven member Public Utilities Advisory Committee (PUAC) was formed to serve as an advisory body for the Board of Supervisors. The Committee's purpose is to provide citizen input into the operations of the public water and sewer systems.  The Committee meets every other month on the second Thursday of the month at 7:00 PM in the Courthouse Office Building Conference Room.  The public is invited to attend.
