Demographics Transportation Commercial Site Plans Community Planning Initiatives and Projects
|
The Department of Codes Compliance is the office that officially reviews site plan applications, typically associated with commercial development. However, the Planning Department works closely with the Department of Codes Compliance on zoning issues and provides comments on site plan applications. A particular emphasis in both Departments is the implementation of the Highway Corridor Overlay District (HCOD) that has been established along the entire length of Route 17 in Gloucester County and along Route 3/14 from its intersection with Business 17 to the County line. The HCOD was established to ensure the continued viability of primary corridors as economic development tools, to maintain transportation safety of such corridors by managing access and visibility, to ensure the long term transportation efficiency of such corridors and to enhance the visual quality of these points of entry into the County.
